Anyone have any information on alternative o-rings that can be used when things are apart? Looks like I had some seeping going on from the 2 aluminum tubes that feed the fuel rail from the VST. Would also be nice to have info (part #’s)of the other o-rings involved when injectors are out for a cleaning.

You can also try Fuller Marine (Vnemous) on here or a local injector cleaning shop if you have one.

15029 - O-RING AND SEAL KIT ---- LIST PRICE $527.26 LOL
I go to a local seal and gasket distributor with a dollar bill and get the o rings and change back.

:iagree: Cody!
I strongly recommend to use fuel/ethanol/alcohol complaint. Best to locate an injector shop....JMPO!
Not to mention the PITA to disassemble a plenum to change a leaky silly O ring......SOB....:mad:
The real ones are usually green, brown or blue. And come in packs of 50 or 100 ..

Mr. Tee,
Unfortunately, Mercury used a few different injectors and fuel rails over the years. I'm not familiar enough with the 2.5 Pro Max to know exactly what they used. It would be irresponsible of me to take a guess ... :o
If you know the stem diameter, depth and width of notch in the stem and rail I.D. then it's easy to pick from the chart .... :)
Lots of sellers on Flea-bay. Some of the shops run specials or sell overstocked items.

That is so very nice to NOT be irresponsible.......;):D
Just a little bit of info.
PM injectors are the same pink tip as the 300X and the 300PM white tips are the same size just a color change.
If you know the correct pink tip size for the X it will save me work...;) ...and help us all.....
Chaz, I would be a bit concerned about buying them from fle-bay. I like to do these plenum 1 time! Certainly do not want to find out that the person on fle-bay sold me something that was round and rubber but not good....:nonod:......for fuel....:mad: I would prefer an injector vendor as a source.

Hopefully these type of threads and info are helpful for some!

If i remember correctly the injector o-rings that came in the Merc rebuild kit for My Bridgeport were blue. ;)

Mr. Tee,
It's never just that easy ... :nonod: but lets start from the beginning ... :)
The "pink" and "white" injectors are the same physical size Keihin ( Honda ) injector. The Pink is a "peak and hold" or low impedance and the "white" is a saturated or high impedance like the Deca style "pencil" injectors.
Useless information for O-rings, but I know people who have tried to mix and match the outcome ... not so good :o
90% of the O-rings .... come from China. :(

The AC industry went from black to blue and brown when they went to R-134 . However you can get R-134 compatible O-rings in .... black ;)
As well as all color's for injectors .. including black
No matter where you buy from, they need to be Viton ( fluoroelastomer ) to live.
A Keihin stem is 7.5 x 10.25mm or .294" x .404" ( give or take )
A std fuel rail is just shy of 10.5mm or .415"-.420"
https://i.imgur.com/8e13Jm6l.jpg?1
Which leaves you two ways to go ...
:D
A 7.5 x 1.5mm https://www.mcmaster.com/9263k568
Or a #11 Merican https://www.mcmaster.com/9464k16
Both of which also come in brown .. https://www.mcmaster.com/o-rings
Which is a touch bigger, they are cheap enough in bulk ... so I keep both. Many aftermarket fuel rails :smiletest: are reamed just shy of 7/16 th's , so the Merican O-ring is a better fit ..
Clear as mud ... ????

I always pre assemble the plenum, clamp it in a vice and run the pump for 15 minutes to check for drips or worse.

Capt, I made a hand pump setup and put around 20lbs to check before bolting to block. If they leak they do around 12-15lbs.
Since my stuff sits for some time after building I hate to put fuel to them till ready to run.

5/16 ID x 7/16 OD fit on the brass/aluminum parts of the 3.0L 225hp fuel rail? Do they fit the 225hp 3.0L injector tops too?

I took off the injectors and brass tube o-rings, noticed both were different in size, the fuel injector o-ring was bigger than what is used in the rail angle piece
The inner diameter of each of the fuel rail holes is the same though
