Boat Rotiisserie - How To Ideas Needed

I've got a 16 foot boat that I want to flip for repairs and paint. I'm thinking about building some kind of rotisserie and would like help with ideas. I've got an old jack plate that I can use for the rear pivot attachment point and it will keep the chain back away from the rear sponsons. I'm not sure how to attach the front end/bow and be able to swivel without damage to the bow surface. The bow eye is a U shaped Stainless 3/8" one. Photos or drawings would be greatly appreciated. Years back I built one using a steel plate that bolted to the transom with a piece of 2" pipe welded to it. The pipe fit inside a 2 1/2 pipe the was welded to a piece of large angle we bolted to the forks on a fork truck. Put a couple guys on the front and let the fork truck handle the weight. Once high enough we spun it around and set it down. This was on a fairly light Hydrostream and it worked well. I think it is still around the shop somewhere and if you have a way to use it you are welcome to it (if I can find it ). I have also seen guys use a chainfall hooked up in a tree and with a little manpower assistance got the job done. If you want me to search for that piece, let meknow.

2 Harbor Freight engine stands should work (without the wheels). Add wooden crib boxes under each stand to get hull beam width clearance from floor or driveway. Stern mount can be adapted with a couple layers of 3/4 plywood (transom engine holes) and a bow eye u-bolt welded to a piece of plate for the bow engine stand. An engine cherry picker should come in handy for lifting the hull.

Guys, Thanks for these inputs. This Nose Piece is brilliant - and what I needed to see. I was having a hard time with how to support the bow in a stationary height without slipping or jerking. This should allow the rotation in a smooth fashion. Great stuff in that video. Gordon

Did something very similar to flip the skater. Two pipe's that fit into portable engine hoists from harbor freight. One bolted to the bow eye, other to a plate/swivel bolted to transom.
Got the job done by myself. Won't try that again!

I just flipped my 16 foot avenger, I lifted the stern close to the center, the front I hung from a old section of dock. I think the lifting from the center is the key. Even with just having a chain hooked to the front eye, there was never a snap, just nice and slow. I did it by myself.
