I've read here where this motor makes 242 hp. Is that with stock heads and the rev limiter in place ?

So any guess on hp capability of one with a better curve , no limiter , and 150lbs compression ?

I have found that in stock form they hit a wall after a certain rpm.
Around 245ish
Stock heads are 38CC's

I seen where Brendan ran one with intake, 150 compression, 16 amp, and a custom curve on dyno.
270+ hp. Thats what I'm running on my boat now. Its pretty impressive so far.

His curve ? What's your thoughts on cleaning up the exhaust and rod slots ? Nothing too extreme.

Same setup Pete had on his XB2002. I was impressed with how strong his was, even with a 28

If I were gonna do that I’d just find a 260. The setup Todd is talking about is really strong

The exhaust on a PM is pretty aggressive but a little cleaning and slots can only help especially when done in a package setup!
The setup/package Brendan and Dave put together has been running very well for a PM!
They run Brucato boxes.

Thanks Tony. I know you have plenty experience with the 225's. Looking at options

I have a 225 pm powerhead as my riding motor. It is stock porting 16amp electrics 155lbs comp and fuel system is set up like a prostock 200. The ECU is a A32 that has been recurved stock intake and injection and is very impressive on how it runs on my SS.

Here’s mine . It’s real strong , it turns up 7600 rpm quick with a 26 pitch ET ,ran 102 on my grandsport plus I ran the jasper river run on 3/4 tank of fuel . We met Friday night at dinner with everyone . It was great to meet you mike , hope your promax works out for you .

Thanks. Great to meet you. Enjoyed the visit. Scott sure can cook ! River ride was really nice. Nice to see some different water.

It will work just fine I'm sure. Weighing options and getting opinions. Don't want to cut this one up if I'm not going to race it.

If you are not racing or in need of every last rpm, I would leave it alone...MPO. Anything I sell or run internally 99% of the time are bone stock.

It will only get a clean up to remove the ridges and such if I end up not using it to race

I've had several 225 pro max engines. They were excellent. I took off the oil injection and left the rest stock. With a 15" mid and a stock sporty i saw around 100 mph on my stv/modvp and early to mid nineties on my ss 2000 comp. Very reliable, smooth and fuel efficient for the day. If I remember correctly, I think my limiters were at 6700. Never blew one up.

I did miss the 7500- to 9000 rpm buzz my 260's had but I blew those up all the time. To fix this I had Diamond do a pair of my 260's and I was stunned on how well they ran. I was very impressed. Great guys to work with. My 280's were much better overall than my 260's.

Tux and Dave Driefort , you think removing the ridge in the exhaust port worth the effort ? Figured one of you have tried it both ways. Seems like it would disrupt things.

Scott I agree a nic motor is the way to go if you are going to zing one up. V6 Pro class don't allow nic motors.

The 225 pm on a good tune is just short of a poor tune 260 just as it should be.
