I lost a nice Hoss prop and snapped sporty prop shaft. Did this ever happen to anyone before? Who should I send it to? I'm on longisland ny.

That sucks...... Get a bayman ..... with some tongs... that water is not so deep......Ya I lost my tool box.... tongs got em.....mark the spot where ya lost it......
I bought a used prop from a unlimited racer, during testing at Jasper I felt a bad vibration next thing I know prop and shaft were gone, found out it was a repaired and welded before.
LU was junk, I believe I lost a blade then the shaft.

Happened to lots of people. That is why the shafts have been getting fatter.<object id="__symantecPKIClientMessenger" data-supports-flavor-configuration="true" data-extension-version="1.0.1" style="display: none;"></object>__PRESENT

Too bad they break inside the seals where they are all the same diameter. Getting fatter doesn't make any difference there.

It is always the weakest point that breaks. Bear in mind that the starting point is a fishing engine designed in the early seventies.
You would THINK ... forgetaboutit
Somehow someone made the decision that selling replacement parts was better than fixing the problem, just like their FIX, the fat shaft from seal back when they really knew it was not the correct remediation.

Maybe.... some one could make a Floater..... hub carrier..... kinda like a dana rear.... full floating.....setup....where the propshaft has no side load...The problem is trying to lift the boat on the propshaft......JMO.

Breakages suck, especially the ones that require a tow. Prop might have been wonky anyways. Harmonics cause a lot of weird cracks/failures on some of the turbine stuff we deal with too. It can be hard to pinpoint the source so while your out a bit of coin hopefully the next one works better

Will a 3 liter propshaft fit a 2.5 sporty?
