DBR upgrade vs. Stock 300XS SM resale value

Looking for some opinions on the resale value of a low hours 2017 300XS SM bone stock vs one with the DBR program and either an alien cowl or his front air intake.

Just looking to query the collective wisdom here on how you would value a stock motor vs. a tuned motor.

I almost always prefer stock, unless you can verify that work was done by a reputable builder and that the motor is still in decent condition.

Read the puters memory, If your looking to buy performance parts, make sure the amount of real world gains are worth the money your spending, lots of story telling in the aftermarket performance world in general.

Would you be planning on doing the same modifications to the stock motor? If so, there may be a value add. It would probably be helpful to compare the computer history of the two...

I agree that the DBR Kit does nothing for speed. It does fix two important issues. The fix it solves that was needed on my boat was raising the rev limiter. I feel that my worked props are the correct pitch for my setup. On a few occasions when i was running WOT looking for top mph. Rpms would creep up on one motor or the other and i would not hear the warning beep because of wind noise at 108 or 109. Not sure how many warning beeps it sounds before ECM decides to take the guardian mode 2500 rpm plan. That does get my attention when one motor shuts down the boat says lets try to turn around. Over 6200 or 6300 is useless as far as making power. But it sure is nice that if motor creeps to 6500 the motor does not shut off like it did a few times. Other fix is the front air intake allows the rear of cowling to be sealed up with spray foam. About 90 mph and up the XS motors will pull water up the back of the motor. Just a fine mist does not affect running, just takes extra work to clean powerhead if running in salt.
