Not a question, but a solution.....
Had a boat come in, customer complaining of an alarm with check engine light on. Disconnected all the tan wires at the engine, still had the alarm. Luckily, had twin engines, so first thing I did was swap tachs and problem went to the other engine. Replaced bad tach.... all good.
I don't see this much, but have learned to swap tachs before digging into the wire harness, saves a lot of time sometimes.
