I appreciate all the help I have gotten here for my motor. I have a few more questions. The motor is running good for the most part. Had it out a couple times and runs good..... Now I haven't done too much tuning to it so far. What are the best plugs for a 3.0 looper? It had QL77JC4 in it which is what I also put in it. There is a Ocean Pro at the shop same year and power that has QL78YC, ive read some posts that recommend NGK plugs. Im running into the issue where on a fresh set of plugs itll start right up, now that ive run it a bit its a B#$%h to start. Started with new plugs on the hose twice in 2 trys. Now its iffy. Once it starts itll crank up every time. I even hook the jump box to it to make sure there is enough power. How can I check the speed of the starter? I know if its not spinning fast enough it wont make spark. I recently pulled the flywheel and cleaned the timer base, not too much goo dripping off. Only 2 drips which I cleaned off. The stator charges at 14 volts when running. I also ran into a issue when I was idling around for awhile waiting at the ramp, it stalled out a couple times, not right away but after about 10 min. I was wondering if the plugs are not right and getting fouled at slow speeds. Any info is appreciated.

Gonna swap out to ql77yc and see if it helps.

loops are pretty forgiving with plugs...ql77jc4 for early or ql78yc for later...or any ngk replacement...or autolites...if it's fouling plugs I would think ignition or fuel problems causing this more than the brand or # of the plugs...

Maybe too much oil, I mix 40 to 1. I hope the ql78yc are a little better. As far as NGK, that's another debate. Some guys swear they start and run better. Others say stay champion. I don't know.
