What am I missing?

Been looking at picking up a center console style fishing boat. Have looked at a few, and just came across what could be a HUGE issue. Do shifters no longer have a neutral safety latch? The salesmen keep bragging about how smooth the DTS stuff is, but this seems idiotic to me. If I bump the buttery smooth throttle while tieing the boat up, it is off to the races?

Please tell me there is a latch that the salesman was uneducated!
