Working with a 17.5' Norris Craft with a '89 200hp Mariner motor, I am wanting to ditch the ride guide cable steering and switch to a hydraulic setup. I have been looking at the SeaStar kit (https://www.seatechmarineproducts.com/seastar-hk7516a-3-pro-hydraulic-steering-system-kit-w-16ft-hoses.html), but have some concerns and may need to piece this together myself.
The helm it comes with doesn't appear to be angled. Unless I went with a tilt helm (more costly), I would like some kind of fixed angle plate like on my current setup.

Is power assist worth it? It sounds like anything above 60mph it is highly recommended. I am leaning toward wanting the power assist, but this is where I would ditch this kit and piece it together myself with shorter hoses, etc.
Just trying to get some feedback on what others have.
