Top cowling
Bottom cowling
Latches
Stickers
2 base plate gaskets
Lifting the powerhead on an old engine will probably be the most difficult part of the exercise. Those studs tend to get corroded.
You may want to replace the base plate at the same time.

Could you use a 2000+ cowling with the 2 piece lower and not have to pull the power head?
Thanks, Al

The 90s drop on cowls and the alien cowls all mount using a base plate that is sandwiched between the adapter and power head. Doesn't matter which adapter is used for mounting but the base plate needs to match as some don't have a hole cut out for the poppet on a 2 piece adapter.435741

Someone had mentioned that going that rout would be the easiest but I wanted to make sure it was do-able.
Thanks, Al

This is the style cowl I have , and makes it so much easier to work on and just 2 or 3 min to get it all off.

You may have to lift the powerhead to get #31 installed. I don't think you can get those nuts off unless you lift it just a little tiny bit.
Those are heavy cowls.

The 3 piece bucket is actually lighter than newer style bucket , I was gonna trade but mine was lighter so I stuck with it , it was a noticable difference just picking up the bucket , with the (200 xri cowl) being lighter
