I had a bad experience at a local mercury dealership
I would prefer not to say the name of the business,
I wrote a bad review about this place, and now the owner is saying if I do not remove the review he is going to call mercury and take off my warranty. just checking to see if that is even legal
Call Wisconsin in the morning

They cant void your warranty for a bad service review. Not sure what the problem was, hope you tried to work it out with the Dealership first before posting a bad review, but even if you didn't they cannot void your warranty.

Start taking your warranty work to H20 Marine Harry Owens owns the company and one of the best merc mechanics there is Brad Ramp works their and is top notch. Im speaking from experience with a new 280 I bough that had 2 issues one of witch was bad internals in a the new sportmaster that came on it and crank positioning censor was bad and they replaced both with zero issues. You know Brad Lundy. Give them your work from now on even if its a little bit of a drive you will be happy:thumbsup:

I have always gotten decent service from offshore performance in S Ft myers. They are a busy dealership so not fast getting you in, but have some good techs. And stock a lot of parts.

I highly doubt he can have Mercury pull your warranty. And note that only Mercury can pull the warranty, not the dealer. The dealer can merely suggest that it needs to get pulled for reason(s) they need to document. On the other hand, Mercury can pull his dealership status if he gets too many negative reviews. One more reason to call Mercury and document your issues.

I called mercury this morning, the rep was great, I told him the situation, he said the owner of the merc. dealership could not pull my warranty. the rep from mercury was upset that the guy had threatened me. he said he will make a note of it , and keep it on file.

"he said he will make a note of it , and keep it on file". That's pretty weak Mother Merc - in most industries there are regional reps between the factory and the dealer. I suggest you identify and make him aware- The idea that a business would threaten a customer over a bad review is reprehensible.
I think you have a responsibility to other merc owners - potential future owners to call this guy publically.

I had an interesting warranty issue a few years ago, I have a Mercury 225 Sport XS and unfortunately there are no Mercury High Performance Dealers in Maine. I had a
injector fuel alarm coming in that was at random. The dealer located the injector and made the repair but I ended up paying for repair and was reimbursed by the dealer when the dealer was reimbursed by Mercury. I thought this approach was kind of weird but never the less I did it as the dealer was in the next town over. Mercury then requested the dealer change all 6 injectors which meant another trip to the dealer when the parts arrived but this time there was no charge.
