CLE issues

My friend was driving his boat normally then something let loose in his CLE gear case. No snap crackle or pop but it stopped going forwards and backwards.

Before we take this to a shop, any idea what may have happened?

He would like to be somewhat of an educated consumer..

Try unhooking the cable at the motor and shift it manually if still wont go into gear need to disassemble the case to diagnose.

Yep. Sounds like broke drive shaft

I've has several of them do that,fly down the lake,then wont engage after fishing awhile,pinion gear stripped/gear cracked in 2-3 pcs.,no noises at all,,
