I am considering buying a motor that is in another country. It is a new member that has it listed so no past deals for feedback. Do you think if i send him money for the motor and for shipping. Everything will go fine because he said there is nothing to worry about? Asking for a friend.

There ain’t no way I would do it! There are no laws governing international commerce! My buddy got ripped on a Lowrance HDS12 and that was not nearly as much as a motor! Only way I would do it is if there were several other member on here that could vouch for him. It’s awful easy to create a fake facebook account. There was a guy in here a while back that got rooked in a motor from a “new” member, who’s only lost was “that” motor. Beware!

Send the money to a lawyer pending delivery? It should be possible to do the transaction safely. Very cool motors.

Sure it can be done, but if you do not have the contacts or the experience you are not the guy to be doing it.

If done I believe you need an EPA waiver. I wonder also what the costs are to ship from France.

I would love to do this too but I would want to know some of the legal details on how this work.

There are international trade brokers that are bonded and insured for these transactions guys. Its really very simple and will cost you a few hundred dollars extra for the piece of mind. I have shipped over a dozen cars and its no big deal.

Hello everyone, yes, we can take a broker or lawyer to secure transportation. For my part I always bought pieces in the USA without problem. Including a Shaun Torrente. For those who are still interested, the engine is still sold. You can contact me by mail [email protected] directly.
I invite you to go on my website www.frojo-powerboat-events.com

I am not a buyer. I am a curious person. What is scream and fly members feeling on this being legit seller?

The link does pull up a website. It seems to be a boat driving school. What i find odd is on the contact page that Gmail above is not listed as a contact option. Only facebook, Twitter, Google and instagram are listed. I really am at unsure about it being legit or not. Sure looks sketchy to be a legit 9k sale ad. A lot of work for 9k. Not much work if posted on 50 sites and get 3 buyers. But very possible it is a school that owns boats and replaces motors from time to time.

Who is going to make the phone call to france? Then if call goes well. Is it a guy in his kitchen running a large cash scheme? Some can duplicate all that the link above shows in a reasonable time frame.

i say a am at a solid 50/50

Hello yes it's my driving school in france . You can see it's my engine on the red boat ( C11).
I rarely change my engine, I just want to switch to 4-stroke V8. There is no scam. There is no scam.

Very cool and very rare motors. I bought one last year for my SS2000. If you can't spring for a phone call you could skype. I don't know the seller, I just like the engine.

What could possibly go wrong? Send $9K to a stranger in another country who's new to this board, for a rare motor that you haven't seen that's supposedly in perfect condition. Certainly no-one anywhere on the continent of Europe would be interested in such a motor, so the USA is the ONLY viable market for it. It's a bargain. I say put cash in a FedEx pak, and wait anxiously for the delivery arrive. He said it's NOT A SCAM. What more could you ask for? Can't you read? :D:D:D
