I've had this boat for 4 or 5 years now. Everyone in the world has been calling me to buy it, but the wife says "NO"!This is my "saltwater" boat. I've never cared for center consoles, but this boat is just COOL! The wife absolutely loves it and tells me that I'm not allowed to sell it. It's a 2002 that was bought new by a friend of mine. It was sold a couple times and I rerigged it in 2007. I was offered it in 2014. I called John Cowen about buying a new bare hull a year ago and was considering being a dealer from them. The bare hull price was almost twice what I get a Liberator for, so I gave up on that idea. I just sold the 250 ProXS and Since I can never do anything half-way, the boat will get a new Mercury 300 ProXS V8, new interior, new paint, Sea-Dek floor, Full dash redo with Garmin screen, new bimini top, all new powdercoated railings, rubrail, and every wire and screw in the boat! It really is in pretty good shape. Here's some before pics

WILDMAN

The ProXS is made for bass boats etc. It has a little less HP and not available with sportmaster. It is a couple $thousand cheaper but even harder to get than the 300R. I ordered two last May and still have not seen them

02-26-2019, 01:09 PM
A T-Top might not be a vision you get often. I think a one could be made that creates shade, and not hurt the style of the boat.

WILDMAN
02-26-2019, 01:59 PM
I used the purple because I already had a piece with the ribbed backing. I don't want a T-top because they only work when the sun is overhead and it slows the boat down 5 mph and it gets in the way sometims due to the height.

WILDMAN

Yes. The main reason I bought this boat was for the seats and console. That's what sets it apart from other center consoles.

I have the boat emptied out so I weighed the bare hull. No console or seats though. Total weight was 1463, hull and tank. I always had issues with water coming over the transom, so I'm raising it 7.5". Motor tilting will not be an issue because I'm putting on a 17" PORTA bracket. It has 12.5"of lift. It can lift the bottom of the skeg higher than the bottom of the boat. Guages, switch panels, and compass are for sale.

I've been working on a new 22 Liberator and 25 Liberator lately, but got grinding on the Superboat transom today. I raised the transom hieght 8 inches. The original lower transom height has alway been a problem with water coming over the back.

WILDMAN
03-28-2019, 06:43 PM
I spent the morning getting the Superboat off the trailer and flipped over. Then I had to figuer out how to get it on a boat cradle upside down. I did all this by myself. Had a few tense moments!

WILDMAN
03-28-2019, 07:02 PM
Now that it's flipped over, I need to clean of the Tannic acid stains from the water we have in Florida. It's created by rotting vegetation. Tannic acid is also what they use to tan leather hides. I use "SNO-BOL toilet cleaner. It removes the stains within 15 seconds. It will also dissolve hard water crust that some lakes have. Just brush it on and hose off with a sponge. The other reason I flipped the boat is because the previous owner had an isue with the boat porpoising so they molded in a 3/8" hook on the bach. You can see how thick it is in the pics. I had to grind is all off and put a skim coat of filler to get rid of any grind marks. The bottom is perfectly straight now. The bodywork will get gelcoated since it's on the bottom. The rest of the boat will be paint.

Of course he likes Trump-he is a worker that has no interest in relying on the government for anything. He, his wife, and another couple came over here and started in N.Y. working for a friend that started up a moving company. Then he drove Taxi cabs, and eventually got into fiberglass lamination and boat construction. His wife is an educated science researcher that worked for the university as a "doctor" and doesn't do anything but send the money (that Rustem bust his ass to make) back to her family because the government has stripped them of everything over there.

I bet wildman works till crazy hours to get this work done. 60 hr+ weeks for weeks on end. Can't get any helper to stay 40 hrs much less more. Some of theses paint procedures require a go till it's done work ethic. Sometimes you might have a 18 hr work day. I made my money and gave it up for a cushy job while I was still not isocyanate and styrene saturated. (yes i'm a wuss) I went thru more helpers than I can remember. Finally gave it up.

Too nice to use. I would park it in my building and just look at it.

Hope you have sent these pics to Superboat to showcase. Also, in the pics, the gearcase had a left hand prop on it?

WILDMAN

Yes, it has a new LH gearcase on it. That's the way I bought the motor. I'd sell it if you know anyone who needs a LH 25" case.

So how did it run?

The previous owner put a "hook" in the bottom to cure the porpoise issue. I took it out and now it hops bad. I put some weight in the front which helped alot, but I need to fine tune it, put the hook back, or put tabs on it.

Just go with a set of tabs. Useful for other reasons with that type of CC

It would me nice to figure out the issue with these CC Linder hulls other than the band aid approach.
I 'm guessing the lack of weight in the bow due to the missing fore deck.
How much set back are you running?

Beautiful build. Do you know in what other ways the hook would affect the performance of the hull? I’m curious if you put it back or just decided to go with tabs.

No tabs because I don't want to mess with them every time I want to open it up. I put 150 lbs of sand bags in the nose compartment for now. Scott Porta has some idea to correct the bottom issues.

If its not too secretive can you post up his solution?

It's putting in some flares by the 2nd set of strakes. Kind of like a hook, but much smaller

How did it work out Randy?

My thought would be it porpoises because it doesn't have the leverage to carry bow????? My super does the same thing but not real bad and stops at about 60. I tried moving the battery to the bow but saw no real difference.

The 21 Superboat looks like a great set up! Randy you did a exceptional job setting up your boat. How do these hulls ride in 2 ft cop on large island lakes! How about slow speed no wake zones do they track straight or wander left and right?

WILDMAN

Mine seems to track fine at idle. Runs pretty good in 2ft if you keep the nose down.
