This motor came to me as a basket case, the previous owner had it disassembled due to a knocking sound. The repair shop didn’t see a problem and owner ended up buying another motor. Turned out to be a bad lower unit. I got the motor and ,after checking the bores and clearances, replaced the rings, rod bearings, and gaskets/o rings. I also cleaned the injectors and fuel rails and VST. Lower unit was replaced. Motor had 272 hours at rebuild and has 345.9 hours now. Pushed my Ranger 390 to about 60 with a 23” Tempest prop. Motor runs great, selling due to buying a new 150 4 stroke.
2.5 liter, 20” shaft, 1.87:1 gear ratio, approx 440 lbs. motor has Mercury water inlet kit #17280A2 installed on lower unit. Includes boat mounted oil tank. I had the motor put on DDT at local dealer and included pics of the readout of hours and RPM range use.
