Got my custom 10"mid done, I cut down the factory Merc swivel bracket, and used my seastar hydro steering.its mocked up on the STV just some photos nothing fancy.. Boat transom is still in body work stage bc of extra low cowl measurements nevermind that part. Boat paint is not finished bottom is not staying blue.. Lol. Love the look 428264428265428266428267428268428269428270428271428272428273428274428275

Good move keeping the clamp saddles. Make sure you gusset the back/bottom of the swivel bracket where it comes out by the lower mounts. We have broken them before. Nice job

That thing looks awesome!!
Love the old school 2.4 cowl.
What are you using for a tuner?

The extra gusits and welds straping ect, will come later it is by no means ready for water just tacked up and welded decent in the key areas.. Lots of work for safety still to go for sure. Thanks guys. The tunner is just a stock piece cut down to fit in mid. It's as long as the can allows.

Also check the top and bottom of the mid for straitness. We usually have to deck the top and bottom after welding. Just had to pull down a buddy’s 15” ridge back because there was a .040” gap between the mid and adapter between the center bolts. It was ready to break all cause people don’t do it correctly and deck them after welding.

Thank you for all info. I'll keep it in mind and check before and after welding fully. I built a small jig to help hold it and going use all power head studs to keep adapter plate torqued down evenly while welding outside.

Merc 2.5... I used my 8"jackplate and cut it down alot to lower motor down. It's the minimum amount of set back I can use..
