Mr. Warby Finds Sponsor!!!!!!!!! The Boat's Gett'in Wet !!!!!!!!

This is great news !!!!!!!!!!! Our own Scream and Fly mate, Ken Warby just called and let me know he just got back from the land of OZ. I asked how the trip went and he said "Well, pretty damn good all in all" he explained what he was there for and that they moved the old boat to the front of the museum, etc. He then proceeded to tell me he met up with someone (can't reveal who yet) that wants to sponsor the WWSR (World Water Speed Record) run in September of 2004 in the land of Oz. This guy is for real and has connections and money to make this happen. He will be visiting Ken next week to see the boat and spend some time with Ken. Can't really give ya any more details right now but IT'S GONNA HAPPEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!More info to follow. Guess I better get my vacation for the month of September turned in right away. :D :D :D

I have a question related to this "fastest guy on the water" stuff: I remember reading a few years back that Craig Breedlove (Sprirt of America...) was building one of these jet-powered - water freaks. Anyone' ever remember anything about that? Balzy? Greg? :confused: ... Good luck Mr. Warby ;)

How would you like a sponsor with a Mig29 Jet,an L39 jet,2 Cobra attack helicopters,plus a couple of civil ones and a hanger full of jet mechanics.
And thats just toyland.
His real business is in real estate and publishing.
Dave is polishing up his helmet and getting seat time in his other three hydros.
The jet has to be in Australia, 8th of October,so the Rumble will be your last chance to see it before it leaves by ship.

Hey Ken. I talked with Dave after you & I talked the other night. We did better this time as it only took us 10 min. to get to where I could understand his Aussie slang and he could figure out my Louisiana twang. Last time I do not think we ever understood more than every other word.

He read me his record acceptance speech and you were right about the need for some night classes on delivery. I have confidence in the boy though. He is really pumped up. His helmet is polished and the Brollie Dollies are ready.

He said you asked him if the 2.5 hydro would fit in a container so it could be shipped over here. He said getting it here would be required as it was obvious you were not going to have the skif ready for the Rumble and somebody had to defend the family honor.

Sounded like a conspirasy to me - but that is OK. I guess outrunning the next "Worlds Fastest Man" will be just as satisfying as outrunning the current "Worlds Fastest Man".

the above shot was from the Cincinatti Ohio Boat Show from two years ago.
Ken came down and worked the show to promote the Rumble.
No charge, no expectations just to help promote the sport that he loves.
Ken also took me under his wing and helped show me the light on making an event like the Rumble a success and what to do to keep it alive.
This guy is a true legend for those that have not had the pleasure of meeting this guy.
Way to go Ken!

yes a sponsor!!, WOW, this means dad will have to get the boat outta the shed!!!!!!!,so this means I gotta stay in OZ, I was ready to go over there, but now the boat is coming here, But if he hadn't come out here, I don't think we would have a sponsor, while dad was out here, we went out to the Local pistol range, and I showed him who the boss is when we had a shoot out with a 357!!!, remember that dad, do you think I would make a good sheriff????........ anyway, before this sponsor came along, dad was tellin me, " look all you have to worry about is driving the boat", but now I gotta go do a public speaking course, start workin out etc, etc etc,....aaaaaaah, what ever it takes, it will happen, When I asked if I can wear my helmet( witch is real cool, flames and bullet holes), he told me that "I have to get serious", I thought that was getting SERIOUS!!!
