Any ideas where to start. Engine is leaking gas, seems to be at the back of the engine not from around filter or lines. I guess I’m hoping not spray rail as that looks like it could get expensive. I can do work— I think, problem is diagnosing it.

You will just have do a very careful visual inspection. You can use baby powder to check for seepage. Turn the key on but engine not running. This pressurizes the system.

Weird thing is without a load—engine in gear it doesn t happen. Pumped the ball, revved it in neutral — no leak.

You might have a actual leak in the fuel regulator diafram or tracker diafram. The fuel would go out the air ruglator into the air muffler and drain out.

Pop the muffler off and sniff. Leek down on fuel rail will also help. Also check the pulse pump and drain cocks on the vst. Few spots for leaks.

MoTv18 thanks, That describes why I see droplets around the water by the engine after running.

If its a saltwater motor, the fuel rails corrode at the bottom, where the lines connect. Could be a diaphram, but that will usually affect runability also
