Looks like a 'Stream copy. The back corners aren't really visible in the pics. I can't see the downturns at the corners, otherwise it looks like the standard Ventura II bass boat copy. Lots of companiesndid it. Judging by the name they weren't trying to hide what they'd done...

So yall think it's a copy or sumthin of sort of a hydrostream?

nitro_rat

The back kinda looks like a champion. Most all of the bass boats copied and modified a hydrostream bottom. It could be a copy of a modified copy...

Did a little research on BBC, looks like it came out of the Glasstream molds which I think are a copy of a Champion copy of a Hydrostream. So a splash of a splash of a splash. Made by Al Kirkland.

Supposed to be good at speed, handle rough water ok, but doesn't turn well. If it's cheap I'd give it a go!

It does resemble a Champion boat in the back.... and they will chine walk..

Thanks. Looks like the bass stream does have similarities but seems wider in back or not as much of a angle the way back shaped. I've did little more reading on it and seems they like a little speed, hopefully it works out. Thanks for the pic

Theres no way possible it can b worse than what it's on now , it will damn sure hurt u quick , I'm adding 3 1/2 ft and a more modern hull , so I know it will do better than what I'm doin now. For the price I'm gonna try it , got a solid 01 for 1k. Hard to beat

Quote "I'm wondering if 240ish hp will move it mid to hi 80s or touch 90?? Thoughts on this?"

I must be getting old..... I don't want 80's or 90's anymore.
Years ago I was going 30's and wanted 40's.
Then it was 40's wanting 50's and so on.
I've spent tons of money on new boats/motors all to go faster than the one before it.
When I finally got to mid/upper 90's, I've had my taste and don't have that need anymore. At 90 mph, the boat is moving 132 feet per second. Throw in some waves, bright sun, and a handful of driving on a surface that hides 99.9% of it's potholes and hazards.....things can go bad to worse very quick. I looked around and there were no Zodiacs nor Scuba rescue volunteers nearby to pull me out from underneath the boat. A stuffed bow, a violent hook, or barrel roll could be my last.

Be careful and use it wisely. Gordon

Kinda cold today but took her for a very short run , boat should be gud for 80s neway , gonna take seat time to figure out where jackplate like to be and gonna do prop change for for next trip. Seems like needs more bow lift, could had been me with jackplate not n route spot but I'll figure out details,, over all boat rides really well at speed ,426747

Well I got little decent weather to give boat a gud run after installing all fishin stuff. I found a decent spot for jackplate and run her up to 72 like it was on rails , now I didnt have it wot ,cause I'm not completely sure shes broke in completely. There was no chine walk up to 72. Maybe it will when it touches 80 idk yet but it will run 80+ for sure. Had lots lots of rain lately and river is trashy so I dont wanna push my luck today , think I'll come back when it clears up sum and c if I cant get a pic of the GPS while runnin. All in all great boat so far

When I'm runnin and start rasing jackplate steering gets harder and harder to steer ,I do have torque tab runnin a 28 chopper, think a diff prop help with steer torque ? I wanna run motor hi as possible. Any suggestions??

I'm having that same issue on my 190 champion with 8 inch manual plate..the higher I raise motor the stiffer the steering gets but the faster the boat runs also..I'm running a stock out of the box 25 tempest... curious of answers you get merc2.5..

I have read other old post bout people swapping props and helps, guess it depends on hull, but I cant go buy 4 or 5 diff props to try, I've tried 2 28 choppers, one cut kinda like a e.t but they acted same or close

If you could get your hands on a 26 trophy or borrow. I think it would work really well with your set up. You can run them higher, they provide good all around lift, they can be improved for your setup by a good prop man. "Allison Cut" And if I remember right they don't wear your arms out as fast

Man that would b great but I would had never thought that a trophy would help with lwp and surfacing that much, I'm up to try it tho , the 28 I'm runnin now has added cup,and I can turn it to 7k or better, I'm thinkin ,havin trouble with tach and goin by hr/tach meter , still haven't maxed this motor out yet,
Not electrical need new tach

I was testing a 25p Trophy worked on by Tim at Performance Propeller. He put a Allison cut on it. I was going to run this on my Baker running a 2L and a CLE in the Parker Enduro a couple races ago. It worked really good at carry 40 gallons of fuel. Very stable and it help my boat handle the rough water conditions. I really needed a 24p. Steering torque was considerably less with this 4 blade.

01-27-2019, 08:08 PM
Well guys. Figured I'd throw this out there but on previous post was havin steering torque bad, guess I just had jackplate way to hi , i started at bottom on jackplate (hyd) and came little at a time , got to point where had NO torque and ran up to 82 ,83 and back off. Tach was pegged at 6k long b4 I hit 80 ,little chine walk but.nothin to really talk bout , was easy to balance, damn if I dont think it hit 90 with current prop &set up , I did hit a damn stick bout 4 or 5ft long and 2 in round, river up little trashy but.not horrible, thought I was safe lol429489
Was runnin bout 70 and couldn't get round it , who yall think I should send it to?

01-27-2019, 08:20 PM
1st time I tried go out today damn motor wouldnt wouldnt start , thought it was solenoid but was starter ,and had swap starter and back to a green flywheel , o btw. I could tell a pretty significant difference from the lite weight

what jack plate, you said you need more setback

Merc 2.5
01-28-2019, 06:42 AM
O. Its detwiler 7 or 71/2 set back. 10 b perfect. Once I'm ru nine at speed trim is level , I do seem trim little more to get her fly till I reach 70 then trim starts get bumped back level ,I'm having to keep the hyd plate almost all way down ,

Merc 2.5
01-28-2019, 06:43 AM
I honestly think once I get her dialed in and learn this new hull , it has a good chance to run 90

Merc 2.5
01-28-2019, 07:05 AM
I need get a video of lower runnin thru water to see exactly where lower sits at speed , also drilling the mid reliefs may help little also, its loud as chit now without it drilled ,so I was hoping not to have to drill it ,

I think a few models existed but memory is clouded hydra sport, hydra bass, hydra ski.

Well I got me a new starter and lite flywheel back on ,and new to me 8k tach, hopefully I'll have sum real #s next time out, still gotta get spacer for jackplate tho. On another note did sum runnin and fishin Sunday, I think everybody down here now has a newer nitro 20fters and such and got chance race one with 225 pro xs 2 stroke to fishin hole and it just couldn't hang , I could slow down and take off again and gap him everytime,

I got my 1st trophy plus prop bout week ago , I got the pvs plugs pretty close for great hole shot , it's a 25 cause I heard the 26s are the worst with blades and pitch being all over the place , I've ran few props on it now , not alot tho , I'm struggling to get the bow lift I want , i know I need few more in on my jackplate butni gotta get diffrent steering ( cables maxed out) which the trophy does pretty gud out of box , I'm plannin on sending it to sumone to pitch to 26 or 27 but I want em to add bow lift. So does alot of the bow lift come with extra tip cup?? I'm turning it 6500 maybe little more , haven't had it wot yet and it was with 2 people almost full fuel and I didnt have jackplate dialed in perfect. (1st test run) so all in all with sum work I think it can b made to run really good , has anyone had any experience with mark croxton props? I hear he bad ass with bassboat props. Thanks. Any info appreciated, especially bout extra bow lift

Spoke to Mark a couple times regarding props.
Seems very knowledgeable. I'm sure he's banged on a few props for your set up. Trophy's have a lot of potential

I'm gonna get this one worked , this boat runs good (little heavy) but its really nose heavy and I dont like it , I gotta get steering b4 I can get bigger jackplate , so I'm tryin make up for it in prop I guess ,
