I wanted to know if anyone could help me out with set up of my new boat. I have a 22' cougar mtr with a single 300x. How similar is this to the Talon or Eliminator. I would appreciate help with prop sugestions and speed expectations. Thanx

I know it seems like a silly question, but I know they have tried that hull with numerous combinations including twins and I/Os and they currently advertise the 22MTR packaged with the 300x. Just a thought anyway

Where are you goin to be running? Do you know Banjo down in Olympia he has a 21 skater with a 300x. We all run on the columbia river in the summer. will you be running in time for memorial day? we all usually get together at the sandbar across from the gorge. Can't tell you much about your boat/motor. Probably start with a 26 or 28 chopper, maybe banjo will chime in. Cougar should also be helpful if you call them, they are pretty good. What color is your boat? Post a pick so I can look for you on the river!

Ya, i boat with Bajo, john aka skunky and the south sound guys quite a bit. They have tought me a lot in a fairly short amount of time. My boat is white with red and blue on it and i will be over on the Columbia Memorial day. What will you be running around in? I will post some pictures when i get them and get mor familiar with the site. The last time i was over at the river on a good wekend I was in my 22' donzi classic.

Good upgrade!
I will probably be in my yellow/white 20' lavey I/O unless I sell it before then. The stoker stays the garage until the Lavey is sold. Discipline is a bitch.
See you memorial day!

Were you over at crescent bar a couple of weeks ago? I was the onr that came down and chatted with you and Banjo. If it was, I've seen ur boat, very nice! By the way, I don't agree with your boat being a skater wanna-be. I personnally like the cougar better, more stable ride at all speeds!
see ya

that skater would surprise you, I think it handles the rough stuff like no other 20' to 22' out there.

That is what it's good at. It's the mid-range that I heard gets a little wierd because of the tunnels and no-pad

I would think a 26 or 28 is too small. Those 300's are torque monstors that turn low RPM. Call Cougar. That boat should run in the low to mid 90's

GIVE TRADEWINDS MARINE CENTER, AND THERE IS A MECHANIC NAMED TOM WHOSE GOT A 21 COUGAR WITH A 300 THAT RUNS ABOUT 100 MPH, SO I'M TOLD. YOU COULD ALSO ASK RICK ABOUT THE BOAT, HE HELP SET IT UP. LATER, DAVE
