Yes, you need to use both..It connects to a fitting just below where the pump mounts..

ok im not using it on a v-6.. lol its going on a 3cyl omc. i had a custom mount made for it. i have one pulse line comming from the crank case. is there any specific area (around) where the second one is susposed to come from?
thanks,
scott

Well not really sure about that...On a merc the other pulse line taps off of an opposing cylinder from the pulse hole on the pump itself..I would have to look at one to tell you which cyl.(my brains too tired tonight to remember)not sure how well that would work on your 3 cyl..I saw a v6 merc that didnt have that pulse pine hooked up and it would not pump enough full for anything past half throttle and would also run out of fuel at a slow idle.. Why not use an OMC pump???They had one with just a single pulse line..They pumped enough for a v4 crossflow..Or use an electric...

i have one from a 3cyl. but this is an experiment. lol i probably will go electric eventually but for now i can deal with a reg. one.
