I just signed up so I may be repeating a previous thread. Many of the records from the 1960s have been beaten. James Cameron went down to the deepest part of the ocean which hadn't been done since 1960 by the US Navy. Felix Baumgartner broke the freefall record set in 1960 by the US Air Force. Bob Beamon's 1968 long jump was broken. But Ken Warby's 1978 world boat speed record still stands. https://youtu.be/nloF0eF-zFs I know everyone who has tried has died crashing. So the technology needs to be concentrated on the pilot capsule. Titanium, carbon fiber, kevlar, airbags, air supply, etc.. Things Warby didn't use. So when do you think it'll happen? The British Longbow project started in 2011and they're still being delayed. https://www.jet-hydroplane.uk/october-2018-update/. Next July will be the 50th anniversary of the landing on the moon. Was Ken Warby smarter than nations' militaries and NASA?
