While returning home from my Grandma’s funeral this past weekend, I talked my uncle into stopping for lunch in Hartford, WI, which also has a sign on I41 advertising the Wisconsin Auto Museum.

I’ve literally driven by dozens of times over the years but either at odd hours or in too much of a hurry to stop. Well, not this time!

I knew that the Force Outboard plant became a Mercury plant, as it was acquired as part of Brunswick’s purchase of Bayliner. I did not know the plant’s previous history dating back to the Great Depression.

Well, the last Mercury product developed in that plant was a personal watercraft that was validated for production but never was released to the public.

They also had a few OMC pieces.

First time Ive ever seen a West Bend on display, I've been to quite a few nautical museums but they are focused mostly on collections of Elto/Evinrude. Cool pics

Old post, but my first time seeing it.
That mercury personal watercraft looks eerily similar from the rear to the mid 90's Yamaha gp 1200.
