Stratos Rocket hull -offered locally. I think the hull design is called a Mod VP- twin tunnels - ski boat look - interior needs work, finish looks good.
Anything to them? It looks rather heavy. I had a '77 Sleekcraft with the same style with a V8 I/O looked good but it had to be towed behind a car to break 50 mph.

I seen that. Does look little heavy. Also has motor for sale on separate ad for 1500$ that's a good deal

I had one with a modified 200 and would do 80mph....once I dug out all the wet foam. Not a fun job!!
Look in the back at the rear of the sponsons and check foam flotation for water. It is similar to a Valero YT hull....but heavier. It was a fun boat, not for rough water though

With that kind of power, you could fly a 15 ft. tri hull over 100.

When in good shape its a very nice boat, looks great with all the metal flake, can go fast with a big torquey engine and designed by Roark Summerford to boot. How do i know? I have one. Mine doesn't hook because i don't do 50mph U-Turns, mine has no wet foam to speak of and I'd go on a limb and say I have the best original condition rocket in the country. So there are some nice ones left, not everyone left them out in the lake to soak up water and burn in the sun and I dont know if the rumors are true or not but the rumor mill says there were only around 200 made. Not sure if that applies to the 18 or 20 footer or both.

I sold my 200vt last year but enjoyed it. Mine was running 85 mph with a 225 efi merc
i also never had any issue with the boat hooking. One thing I learned with this hull is that it does not need all the setback that some
people claim it needs

krazyman yours looks great

OMC crushed the molds because of lawsuits, My friend Pat Eves was the Florida factory service rep and he asked for the last boat to be made for him, lightweight and no foam, the factory would not do it because he would sell the boat someday possibility setting up another suit. Just the facts, I owned one many years ago, on a test ride to sell the boat the guy asked me to do a sharp turn at speed, (I guess he heard) he did not buy the boat, it only hooked during aggressive driving;)

I have a 20VT and had it for about 12 years now. Yes they are heavy and kike said I don't do 50 mph u-turns, Had a 200 on it then put a 280 after I re-did the transom and floor. Took the 280 off to put on my euro and put the 200 back on. Still love the boat and like the lines on it. Don't really know how many were made as stated in a previous post.

Beautiful boats.

But I have to ask, for fun, what's the point of having a boat with training wheels if you can't do 50mph U-turns?

I have a 18 foot VT Rocket bass boat my wife bought it last summer it has a 140 Evenrude looper on it with a 20 raker. We put a 10” jack plate on it but it wants to porpoise unless wide open and will run 37 trimmed down and can only get 42 trimmed up. Have the motor up high some people say it should run low 50’s not sure what to do. Can you offer a suggestion?
