Hey guys -- I'm spinning a 14.25 x 24P prop at 5400 RPMs and I want to push that RPM up to about 5800. So, I should be looking for a 14.25 x 22P, right?
My question is, if I went to a 13.75 x 23P (laser II) would the smaller diameter of this prop let me rev it up to 5800, even though it is a 23P and not a 22P?
Thanks,
Matt

Its hard for the prop makers to make 2 props that are exactly identical anyway.........changing anything might make the difference you are looking for, props are more art than science you have to test, test, test no one can do it for you........and there is no way to get around the expense of trying this and that (if you really want to go faster)
Going down 1/2" or 3/4" might run the same as either pitch change and give you a little more mid accelleration or near top accelleration with or without the motor rpm change.........or........depending on the prop, do nothing

I had about 3/8" of the leading edge of the blades on my Tempest Plus 25P ground off and I picked up 300 RPM and 2 mph.
went from 5700 to 6100 RPM
Take your present prop into a good shop and tell 'em what ya wanna do........

Hey BMAC 5700 to 6100 is 400 rpm.
just thought I would bug you about your subtraction, really I am just kidding around, I just thought it was funny, but I got your point.nothing is better than having a prop balanced and shaped properly
