You can adjust the steering trim on the radio.... It got bumped and I didnt notice until it was too late. Thankfully the big boat was relatively okay and the owner is an understanding friend who was surprised more than anything. (And I did offer to pay for repairs)
all just laughs now!... lol

Talking to Paul Freeman , He was racing SS or whatever they call it now, almost everything changed and the boat in the other lane Hooked toward him so he had to get out of his way or get hit .
Paul won the class because the guy got DQed for some type of mod in a stock class.

Thank you Sir.
I met Paul when I was at Jasper. It was a couple days or so before the race. We had just got there and we launched Dave so he could do a little testing. Something wasn't right so back on the trailer. Found that the gear case had broken at the back at the cavitation plate. Paul came to see and offered to take the gear case that had just broken to a welder he knew. Next day we were testing again.
A true racer and gentleman .

Could be Capt. I have a vid somewhere. If I remember correctly another thing was we had installed shims to give a little more positive trim. My vid records him till he kited it so high I thought he was going over, I then dropped my hand and recorded the ground beside me. LOL
We had launched from the other ramp outside the race area.

Your welder was probably Randy McCormick the guy always running the crane, he raced for over 20 years Tennessee drag boat association then ODBA he quit because Glenn Reynolds hooked at the end of the course and he had to make a turn at 115MPH in a Quarter Master, they weren't made for that and he crashed, not wanting to be driven over, that was the end of his racing days, his wife Cathy always ran the brackets for Tenn and ODBA his son also ran a 1/4 Master also,
Most people don't know that Paul Freeman is an expert road racer and teacher he crashed a few years back screwing up his wrist/ arm, he was trying to get me to run with his group , I'm a novice , I do one track day a year which my club sponsors, on a big ZG1400 which is not a track bike, he runs a 600.

Getting a little better every day. I only wish the boat healed up like we do but nope, it’s still broken

Erik I asked the ODBA president Steve to collect $ money for YOU, but he said you don't want Charity, silly you, I just think it's the right thing to do,

I asked where is John Gore, I heard his house is gone, only a slab left, Jimmy Milton also had a mess, so we were short a few good racers. Still had almost 90 racers.
