Hi everyone, I've been researching in reference to boat / hull balancing and can't find much info. I wonder if there's a way to balance a hull with extra weight in the transom from a heavier outboard? Will adding weight in the front balance out hull to factory specs?
23' concept / Merc 150 @430lbs (factory rated up to 225 @505lbs)
Repowering thoughts: Verado 4 stroke @635 lbs

Most larger hulls will tolerate more weight at the transom. It's the smaller boats (<18') that have the most challenges with larger motors. Really going from the 430 lb merc to the 635 lb verado is equal to one passenger on the back seat. The extra power will more than compensate.
The difference between the verado and the theoretical rated 505 lb motor is even less. Leave the passenger at the dock and maybe move your batteries forward if you have a problem with the extra weight.
Side to side balance is more critical than front to back!
