Well built sought after hull. Do a search there's pages of info on them

One of the best-made boats available, in my opinion. Also my personal favorite in the single-outboard v-bottom offshore class of boats. It will run close to 100 with a 300XS or 300X. Like Duro said, tons of photos and info on them here.

One of my favorite hulls as well, I would love to have one! Once you find one call Kevin at Progression and he can probably give you info and history on the specific hull you're looking at.

I have an 08' Kevin builds a great boat and his attention to detail is very impressive. As with any boat try to find a nice, clean, unmolested one. Do you have a 22' that you're considering?

Have a 90 22 still looks like its only a few years old. No rot no soft spots and the transoms still solid. Went to get the bottom blue printed wanting to squeeze a couple extra mph out of her but after my guy checked it with a straight edge he said it was straight as can be with no hook. Pretty impressive for an almost 30 year old boat. There's not too many older boats that didn't need some kind of structural work done over the years. Kevin definitely builds a quality product.

This thread is useless without pics!
Mine’s old and beat to billy hell. Can’t hardly shave in the reflection anymore. Same age as my wife. Thinking about trading them both in on newer models. But probably not.

Low 60’s with a BravoXS 4 blade. We didn’t have a spring, so it might run a bit faster now that it’s cooler.
To the OP:
Fit and finish, construction, and materials on these boats are second to none. Kevin builds a boat that will last a lifetime if properly cared for.

I think you'll find that it will run quicker than that with a little seat time. My 22 with a mildly warmed over 2.5 / 200 (240 HP at the crank on a dyno) runs 77 MPH on GPS. With a newer 250 like yours it should run low 80's. A friend of mine has a 22 with a 250XS on it and he's seen 83 MPH.
As for the boats themselves, you'll be hard pressed to find a better constructed 22. Mine's 26 years old and still looks almost like new. It's also the only boat I've ever owned that's never had any structural repairs - and it runs on Lake Ontario all the time.

low 80’s on a 24 high deck with a 250? *sorry, misread*, yes I’d think a 250 should get him close to 70
My 24ld with 300x would run 80 everyday, mid 80’s on good days.

22p pro finish BravoXS. I should be able to spin a 24 Bravo without issue. These 24XLs are big girls, they need that blade surface and diameter.

There’s a 27 with no power for $20k on Long Island (Amity Harbor). New transom, ready for power. It’s on CL. I think the owner is a long time member here (ghost28, May want to PM him). Ad mentions a pair of 250’s available for an extra $10k.

my old boat...sold it to a guy around the block from me who had plans to repower it ETC but he lost interest in it after he bought a Z06 vette...i would be glad to answer any questions anyone has about the boat... The transom was done over by Hustler boats and done to perfection, the boats solid otherwise and a nice piece...im sure it needs a detailing since its been sitting a few years but overall its a really nice boat...

Isn't 20 k a little much for how much it will cost to get the boat running motors, jack plates, steering, and trim tabs, etc would add up to like 25-35 k alone. To have 50 k into a boat that is a 97' seems a little high to me. Yes, great boats and I know boats are not an investment, but I don't want to take a bath on the thing either.
How much would Kevin want for a new one, 100 k ish with 300 R's???

High end 24 bay boats such as Yellow Fin, Barker etc with a single outboard are over 100k now. It's mind boggling to me. My nephew is a broker and has sold 26 Barkers used for 125k. 24 yellow fins used for 85k plus. New boats are crazy. I'll keep running my old junk and be happy. Guess my point is, 20k for a clean 27 foot hull isn't out of line depending on what's included and condition. I dont think you have a chance at anything 27 foot with twin 300R's for 100k.

Not even close to 100ish. I had him write me up a quote last year for a 22 with 300xs and big kplanes, plus everything else to make it a turn key boat and it came out in the 80s somewhere.
A 27 with twin 300r is gonna be big dollars. Heck the motors and steering and jackplates alone are gonna put you in the 75ish range, that’s without the boat.

Agreed, I started pricing things out and It got out of hand real quick. I've been in the market for a second boat for over a year and a half and there just isn't much out there and will only get worse. I priced putting this boat together and financially it didn't make much sense. Youd probably be into it $60k plus
Stainless marine twin bracket $2700
Twin $300xs. $24000
Imco steering $5000
Trim tabs $2500

Must be nice to be able to afford to think about a new one seriously...
