Wondering if Kenny acquired all the tooling, or partial mold inventory.

I don’t see Kenny mentioned in the story, looks like Scott bought the name and whatever molds were left from the last owner.

I talked to Kenny last week. He wasn’t involved in the purchase. He does have a couple cool refit projects going on though. Two very different 39’s.

Oops! Meant to say Scott M. Just was wondering what specific boats he is able to build, or all of them? Sometimes molds are simply used & royalties are paid per unit. Or, did Scott somehow aquire the whole ball of wax.

Long overdue. The entire portfolio was for sale; The brand, molds, tooling and customer base. I looked into it briefly about a year ago, but at the age of 57 it was more work than I cared to put in and risk the money investment (on top of the purchase of the brand) to begin a new factory startup. Active Thunder was also being advertised at the same time...I wish the new owner lots of success. Velocity was my first performance boat and I've enjoyed a few of them through the years!

From what I understand, it was the entire package.

Not bad for a kid who started out delivering boats for Steve. I wish him all the best.

Awesome! I love my 22. Curious to see what they come out with in the 22-28 range moving forward. Would be awesome to see something similar to the outboard version of the Laveycraft out of Velocity.

From what I received when I looked into buying the company, all the molds from 22' through the 41' were part of the package. It also included the newer center console topdeck molds and tooling! That equates to a lot of boat models! The 22' outboard, The 220 VR, 260VR, 290VR, 290SC, 320VR, 410VR, 220 & 260 BAY BOATS and 262CC 392CC..

...Steve, you need to concentrate on getting a deposit on the Checkmate first...;)

Everybody wants to trade me stuff I don't want..swamp buggies, 4 wheelers, jet skis, wave runners, etc. All I need is $$$ and I'm still torn about selling her. Last time I had it out I had a blast and the boat ran like a raped ape!!

Any new news on Velocity? Have they been dragging them to any boat shows, etc.? Any new boats sold?

I know he had a 290SC under construction and I believe he has (2) 260 Bay Boats getting started. I know the 290 was out of the mold, but I haven't seen any updated pics in awhile. He's got an older 29 VR1 in the paint booth now, and he's also been doing some refurb work. Seems to be staying busy, and hopefully we'll see some new completed boats soon.

Scott stays active on Facebook and posts fairly often on the Velocity page. ;)
