They will do things that NO other 20 foot boat is capable of. I am more then impressed with how the boat handles and the water that it will run over. As for the build quality, there have been several builders involved in the boats that are out there "the majority are not people that I would personally have involved". If Errol will build one for you then you need to make sure the skin coat is very thin and extra attention is paid to rolling the tight radius areas of the keel and splash rail. Errol and a few others have the knowledge and ability to lay one up correctly and end up in the 1000# range but it will NOT be cheap. There are 3 molds used to create a sportdeck so there is extensive bodywork detail needed to make it "what I consider" acceptable and it will need deck bulkheads to support the wide span and retain the correct deck shape. I really feel that having one of these done correctly is a very special piece. I went a little extreme with this one to insure that the body lines were as I wanted them. You can see in the 5th picture how the bow slopes down and will now hold air over its full length. The running surface is straight, added bulkheads and other supports, changed the rear seating configuration, added a center console front and rear etc.

Joe First I'd like to thankU for your Quick response and knowledge of the L,C,B cat SD.
Second A+compliment on your rig ! and pic's added very cool .
Spoke with Errol very knowledgeable of what works at speed 100+ wind tunnel testing
for safety and speed is just one of many steps that go in to building a true super boat.
Quality doesn't come cheap but in my mind it is worth it.
Will be going down to meet/talk with him in person about details of build soon .
Thanks again
Wayne
ps love the stands/look of the Euro Deck:cool:

Joe,
Liked the video - would you equate the ride more like a true tunnel or a pod boat? The center pod looks very shallow. Guess just enough to induce the inside lean ?

Wow, awesome rig
home made tunnel

Are the molds of this boat passed around to different builders?
It's a sharp looking hull. I like it.

It handles more like a true tunnel and the small pod adds strength to the overall structure "not really sure what its doing other then that in smooth water". Todd built one without a center pod and it also ran in the mid teens with a 300X. The sponsons and running surface are really big for a 20 ft. boat so it doesn't bottom out easily.

They were in the past but I don't think Errol will let them out of his shop at this point. This was a group effort project between Errol, Todd D. and Brent-all of them have money invested for this to be created.

When I saw Wicked on your video you had me going, I know that is Todd's coined name, waiting for the 30 ft project to see the light of day.;)
From everyone I've talked to this design in the 21ft range, is tops, easy to drive is the best high-performance boat for the real world, this design is fast and eats waves. To me, that is really important, to be able to fly over the tops of the waves.

Todd was going to build the sportdecks under the Wicked name but realized that he had too many irons in the fire and that there wasn't going to be any money to made at the price he had been quoting. I hope he gets that big boat done in the next couple of years while he still has the desire to go racing.

JPEROG, meant to ask you before, did you leave all the under deck work exposed or cover it?

I watched Brent a couple years at Jasper run the hell out of his, they are a extremely nice hull.

The pictures of the bulkheads that I added are posted above. They are made out of Airex core and covered with carbon.

I own a Lanier Fast Cat flats boat.
The build quality of the LCB is excellent.
Rigging and attention to detail is on par with my Skater 32
It handles and rides like a 25' boat. I recently took it across Long Island Sound from CT to Montaulk NY.
Top speed with 40 gals of gas and two people is 85 MPH so far.
I needed some replacement parts, Errol Lanier could not have been more helpful! I can not say enough great things about this boat! It is fast and stable.
