I have a 2005 2.5xs, has low compression on 2 cylinders and is need of a rebuild.
I'm debating between a rebuild, a total re-power, or picking up one of the many used powerheads/motors out there, etc. I'm finding powerheads of the 2.5 variety, 3.0 variety, motors without lowers, etc.
If I find a suitable 3.0 Power head would that bolt up to my midsection? Would I need other parts? What about the 2.5 motors, would these share the same bolt patter as my current 2.5 block?
What about my lower? It should bolt to any 3.0 Mid/engine combo right? What about my lower bolting to a 2.5 mid?
Again, my motor is the 2.5sx Optimax with 20" 3.0 mid and sportmaster gear case
