Will a Mercury Prop fit on an OMC?

I have an OMC Cobra drive that I need a prop for. I know the larger OMC outboard props will fit it but was wondering about Mercury props. I heard that Mercury props will fit an OMC but OMC props will not fit a Merc. Can anyone answer that for me please?

An OMC prop will fit a Merc with the right hardware. To put a Merc prop on an OMC you have to modify the hub. You have to drill or grind out enough of the splines from the thrust washer side of the prop for it to slide all the way on the shaft. Looking at the two you should be able to see what needs to be done...

I have drilled the hubs out using a 1 inch hole saw. You have to slide the prop on backwards a couple of times to knock out the burrs then it works fine.
