82 140 xflow bogging on low end seems need to relief exhaust added more air and holley red plugs are fine on top end a tad wet at idle. Was thinking a 11/2 hole cut in mid with plug for noise when needed. 145 compression give or take 5. Thanks for opions this is not for noise but noise is nice.:D Rick

Since I added vents and went with tighter heads it developed like I said it loads up more now but it burns it off when running hard if that make sense. Dave I miss that inline 6 that was one of my favorite motors of all times that said I think this v4 has a bit more balls.

V4 will hav more on bottom for sure. I'm a merc guy tho , but dnt care much bout inlines tho, guess just to old school for my blood , my first 2 motors were inlines also, with all that said, I'm not a jonnyrude expert by no means , did you up hi speed jets with tighter heads ? Did you mess with idles?

tighter heads would make it leaner, how much comp does it have now?
Where are these vents?

When I got this motor I had very wet plugs and it ran too rich so I fiqured having the heads cleaned up and cut a tad would not hurt and rejetting was not necessary compression is about 145-148. It just seems to need to relieve exhaust. On top end it runs out good. thanks Rick

It is not exhaust. That is the same leg as a V6.

It is the carbs. Try bumping the choke. If that helps it is lean.

is it running warm enough?
are all the puddle drains working? ( re circulation system)

I am going to test run later in the week I don't know if what I have done including changing to a ten amp regulator rectifier. I basically did the same to a 110 and it ran well. Thanks and forkin I will try the choke but I think the carbs are good thanks will report the run.

Wouldn't think the regulator/rectifier would be prob if it's good at wot? Carbs my guess or compression
