3.0L new style vs 2.5L old style

I had a friend connect me with a guy selling a mid 90's 3.0L 225 which I know nothing about. I barely know anything yet about the 2, 2.4, 2.5 engines so bare with me. Are the newer 3.0L efi engines in anyway compatible with the older 2.5 stuff? Can I interchange powerheads on the same mid etc? Is it worth focusing on the newer 3.0L engines or should I stick with the older stuff? Rigging hydrostream only for now so any pointers or general thoughts on direction here is appreciated

3.0 will not fit on any 2.0-2.5 stuff unless modded somehow, only a few have dne it I think

Yeah I checked out the weight and that pretty much ended this for me
