I grew up going to Watkins Glen for what use to be the only place they raced F1 cars in the US 1961-1980, Nascar holds a race there now , Trans Am's since the late 60's , in about 1972 I had a 1970 Vette convertible with header side pipes , they always have a area at the track protected with shotguns called the Corvette corral , to protect the cars from drunks , before the race they had a parade of Corvettes, we would stop by the pit area and pick up a driver , photographer , official ect. So I was stopping to pick someone up when I recognize Graham Hill waitting for a lift, I floored it stood on the brakes and welcomed two time F1 world champion , as we drove around the track people stood up and applauded like I had:cheers: Jesus Christ in my car.

CUDA you lucky bastage. That had to be fun as heck, plus seeing the racing!

Is this video from the movie Grand Prix? Kinda wish they would bring back the old Monza banking.

If you wanna get an idea how tricky it was to drive those cars find a copy of the old Windows game Grand Prix Legends. Make sure you own a good wheel and pedal set to play the sim/game.
Understand this "game" was built to simulate what the cars were actually like to drive. So it's very hard to drive at speed, 2-4X harder than any other racing sim ever made. Kinda like trying to learn to drive an Allison in pouring down rain.
