I have two sets of carbs... Which ones to use?

First is 393574 bore 1.46 Mains 59, Idle 40, mids NA (Very small) and the mids pickup tube is shorter than Idle... Also has provisions for Vstacks

Second set is 436604 bore 1.48
Mains 73, Idle 31, mids 33 and pullover 98.
This carb has adjustable Idle mixure and no upper mount for Vstacks.

What is the better carb for a mod motor?
just on looks alone the mids on both carbs seem quite small...

check this out... I'm changing over to the one's on the right this season.

2" bores - Do you think it well breath a little easier???

No more mid-range lean, no more decel-knock. Fuel curve adjstment every 250 rpm. Will idle at 500. We'll see how they do in a couple weeks....

Just '86 heads and fiber reeds.

Throttle body ID is just a hair smaller than the gasket. Gasket is just a hair smaller than the intake. Close enough that the play in gasket placement would let it block some of the intake if your not careful. Nice.

Wayne says the intake and reeds are the next bottle-neck. Maybe next year...

Long term, I want to clean up the casting flash, & send it out for finger ports. Not ready to tear it down yet.

Main driver for the EFI was the tunablity.

Wow! That injection sure looks nice. I like the tunable injection for sure. Have you run it yet?

Steve
Very nice!
this one has been heavly ported, decked, line bored, ballanced bla bla bla
I have several heads for pump fuel and race fuel.
Im sure I will be dealing with the mid range lean issues.
What carbs did you use? One set I have are sst100 carbs. Are you running an EGT?

Looks like it should move. I like the 4-stroke hood.
Carbs were P/N 437326.
Yes, I ran an EGT. It wanted to cook at 4-5000 rpm, and any time I took my foot of the gas.

Forkin, only ran it in the driveway. Have a bunch to wrap up, but should be in the water next weekend.
