I am looking at buying a blown 2000 M.Y. Ocean Pro 175 for spare parts down the road for my running 2001 Ocean Pro 175. I did a short study of part numbers, and it seems all of the general part numbers ( crank, piston, rods, carb body, intake, gear case housing) have the same part numbers. The one part number that is not the same is the Crank Case Assy part number.
Are these crank cases interchangeable? ( maybe there was just a minor design change, so they revised the part number?).
What is a reasonable price for a "blown" motor? I am thinking $500 or so?

Wow, do I win a prize for stumping the panel? :)

They both appear to use the same sleeves,so I would guess they would be interchangable...Note the shifter attachment boss on the front of the block moved a bit when the motors changed their lower pan designs from the short squared style the the long Ficht look style. This can be worked, but is not a direct replacement. If both motors have the long style pans I think you're good to go,Chris
PS,a deafening silence from those that don't know is better than a barrage of wrong information from those that want to sound like they do...

Thanks Chris. You gave me something to look for to narrow it down, I appreciate that.
Your words of wisdom are spot on. Now with the internet, if you can chage spark plugs, and talk a line of crap, you are an expert.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

If memory serves a slight cooling change.
