Who was running this Skater 21 at Montauk on Friday?
The conditions were perfect, I ran my Lanier Fast Cat from Connecticut.

That's definitely Charlie and Kim! I grew up with Charlie - we used to go kneeboarding when we were like 14. Charlie is also a legend on Long Island for taking a 70-pound Gamefisher jon boat (rated for 3hp) and clamping an Evinrude 35 to it with a small steering console. That boat was just insanity defined. Just so many priceless memories.

Unfortunately vacation is over, just getting back into Florida now, my friend Matt and I took the trip, he took his sweet 16 donzi. Was 190 miles round-trip from lindenhurst to Montauk. Was a great day.416781

What was the name of the restaurant you docked at with the yellow awning?

It was the swallow, we ordered a drink, looked at the menu and walked out, it sucked. Went next door (can't think of the name of the place) and the food was great

They had a good turnout for the Sunday run, which was great. All these runs are right in their backyard, and if the 16 donzi could do it ...... It was a nice ride417071

I did it 10 years ago in the virage, but u definitely have to watch the weather and pick the right day. I heard the weather up there this summer hasn't been the greatest

Yes, you do!! That canal current gets tough. Even Hydroo crossing the sound, you guys did well!
I live at the foot of the Smith Point Bridge.

I ended up planing off in the lock, I sat there at 3k rpm and the boat wasn't moving. The current definitely rips through there

Most of the waterways up here in New England with the higher tides we get are snottier than down there. It's not Little boat friendly... but I enjoy it :)

It's hard to find a clean one, and specifically a non epoxy boat. And the copies aren't built like the original. They pop up from time to time, just have to keep watching

I'd be fine with a weathered and beat up hull. I've got the know-how to build a boat from scratch, and I could definitely restore one. I'll keep watching
