Engine temp

I have 2000 2.5 225 promax complete rebuild: Bored 30 over runs great, temp is 145 / 160 at idle when out running. Temp gets to 180 / 185 runing at 4000 to 6000 rpm, does't go any higher in temp. Still breaking motor in. Ive heard 185 is normal for this motor. Thermostas or 163 when they open.
Is this normal temp for a promax 2.5 ?

Seems a little high to me from where my modded 2.5 ran before it burned a couple of pistons, twice. Water pressure good at those rpms?

Motors with t-stats in should run around t-stat temp at idle...they should run a little cooler running down the river when rpm comes up and water pressure builds...I'd check my cooling system...
