Two dual butterflies, between the air inlets on the intake, pointing backwards if laser EFI or a big single inlet pointed down if it's a downdraft EFI.

Yes, the air goes in from the back side of the LASER intake.

Great picture but im confused. the air is drawn in, makes a u turn and back thru reeds? im missing something, think.
It's hard to believe but true. Ever wonder why a Brucato or other slide intake works so much better?

Not gas guzzlers, my 225 PM uses less fuel than a 2.4 175hp. Must work OK if the 225 Pro Max made 240+ up out of the box.

When it's right and not out of adjustment, the Laser plenum style EFI system has better bottom end snap, economy, and throttling precision than any of the other motors with old school electronics. Those U-turns are tough on power up top where the 260 and drag porting starts to come on, but like most other things there's a tool for every application, and WOT power is not really what the laser intake was geared toward.

Dave i thought laser efi systems were obsolete and only on old 2.4. my 220 does have great bottom end, now with pcu even better just raggy idle, smoking even with oil inj still on. cant get stable idle, too high, then too low have to kill it and drift in to ramp or dock. im tired of it!

I had the same fast idle problem on my 300 promax. Turns out the fuel pump assembly had been reinstalled without the spacers behind it and it was binding the throttle linkage. Not sure if that applies here, but want to just throw it out.

Never seen that must have a linkage issue some place.
