Hi guys, i have a 23' concept cc designed for 2 stroke power (150-225). I'm looking to re-power and have given the 4 stroke route a thought. I have read articles / researched on the subject and don't know if it'll be a good choice. What's your input? They're heavier and will throw off the balance, will it be horrible?

I have 2 of the merc 4S 150s so I will jump in here- weight XR6 2004 150 I sold 2 days ago had 402lbs on SN tag, new 150 2018 4S weighs 455 lbs - these are 20" shaft #s
My experience is performance and RPM range virtually the same- same top end, same hole shot- a bit more mid range torque on 4S. This when both run with in factory RPM range > 5600 ish.
That's where equality ends- fuel consumption 4S is easily 50% better. Noise level on 4S is so quite at idle you can hear tell tail pisser hitting the water.
I picked up my second one last week at CGM out the door @ $10,500. I have one on a 23' Mako CC @ 2400 lbs dry weight runs 42 mph with light load, 38 mph with full fishing load. Last note - old merc controls and harness will fit these with one small adapter- so no need to change harness nor shifter. So a 2 hour install if you are drinking beer :)
Can not speak for other 4S or higher HP models-
