I've had this issue over and over for the past time i've had the engine rebuilt.
Last year was great, no temp issue ( finally )

This year, just came out of storage, I've installed a brand new pump outfit last year almost in mid year. I did not replace this year, I get the Pee running okay on the ears. water pressure has NEVER exceeded 7 to 8 PSI, I think these 3.0L V6 are prone to overheat.

I always run it on super, 45 to 1 oil mixed.

When using the hose you should really use the cold not the hot water. Kidding

Is it on the muffs it's over heating or did you put it in the water too?

Pressure is a lil low should be 15 wot. I would start with the poppet valve and t-stats. New impeller. Also check the sensor for the gauge and make sure it is really getting hot. Normal temp is 140(+-) overheat is 190(+-) Should have 130 deg t-stats.

Both my X and 250 EFI run at about 8-9lbs wot and barely readable at Idle on gauge, I have to check smartcraft at idle to see any pressure:D Never overheated.

Tripps was saying he had one..... bad /reused Orings on the heads... blowing water out of cooling. I have seen rotted water tubes... and wrong tube plastic thingy...

I was ridding on the water and the gauge went a little closer the 3/4 of the reading

I've been chasing this thing over a year or two. Replaced everything possible, copper tube, grommet, popet valve, water pump ( three time more than two ) added a second water inlet tube to the Land and Sea nose cone
it had only one before, replaced Tstats with 138* before they were 143, . widened the water inlet under the nose cone....it pees alright on Idle and the temp raise slowly. Pulled the heads and replaced O-rings, checked for corrosion, warpness nothing of these late two. I am really P...O... can't replace more than what I've done so far.....even replaced temps senders unit ( both because I installed two thermometers ) compared with a infrared thermometer. the engine is running on the hose idle at 159* on both sides.

If it is a Frankin motor ... make sure the PH/ adaptor plate match..... early ones crack.

Chucks of old impeller wedged in adapter with pebbles and poutine?

Had a similar problem on the optimax on our bass boat. Low water pressure and overheating at idle. Ended up being leaking gasket between the mid and exhaust plate.
