I have a 1985 Hydrostream Vegas XT. I removed a screw (pic below) with a plastic wire wrap from the hull bottom. the screw was punched through in the notch area of the hull bottom

when I removed the screw, it was no more than 1/8+ inch thick and from the inside of the boat I can just barely see the tip of the screw.

So I ask has Hydrostream ever built the Vegas XT in 1985 without any core or maybe an owner before me removed the core?

Here is the screw, with the plastic wire carrier, and whilst the screw was in the hull, I can barely see the tip of the screw from inside the boat

when I removed the screw and measured it, this is what I got

after removing the screw, I took pics of the hole as it is visible through-and-through

if there is a core in the hull, how thick is the balsa core?

I also measured the thickness of the rounded-tunnel hull bottom and the thickness is also 1/8+ inch

Where in the hull was this screw? Pretty sure they aren't a full core boat. You mentioned the notch area, I know my Hydrostream isn't cored in that area. The XT should have a cored pad and tunnel contours, but pretty sure that's it.
