Ok. I cleaned the carbs on my 3.0 johnson. After starting I it up I noticed one bowl didn't have any fuel spray coming up from the bowl. So I shut it off and took that carb off. Was a stuck float so the bowl was dry. I took the plug and l looked inside as best I could. Everything looked a little oily. Should I be really concerned about damage from running it for a couple min with no fuel?

Was it just idling on hose? Probably didn't do any or much damage. Run a compression test and see what that says.
If no fuel made it to the cyl , nothing to ignite . Not the same as running at speed and leaning out to just enough fuel to do damage .

no fuel, no oil but you get some from the cylinders above plus what was already there.
They will idle for hours with no oil, tested that at a service school
Sure but not enough to fire it, won't run 1 second without fuel. About the same as disconnecting the fuel line and waiting for it to run out at idle, I don't do that but ...

Not enough fuel to create any heat. As long as it had enough lube to not score the cylinder you will be fine.

It will be fine as long as you weren't reving the crap out of it.. the oil in the gas only replenishes the built up oil in the engine as it makes its way thru and finally out the exhaust .Dave

Cool, I didn't run it long and didn't rev it too much. And was bone dry not lean. Just on the hose.
