Hey everyone, I thought you would enjoy this great conversation with Darris Allison. It's a little bit different than our other 10 questions interviews. Darris was really generous with his time and shared some great stories from the past and some thoughts on the future. Truly a legend in the boating world. We really appreciated it.

Awesome article. Thank you for sharing.

I would love a chance to meet Darris - a motorcycle ride in TN is on my short list of things to do. When it happens, I'll be stopping in to say "hi" to the Legend himself.

Who knew the back deck was copied from C2 Corvettes? I can see it.

Great article-140 in a 2002 (beyond balzy). I had dinner with Ben Robertson this last week and we were talking about the innovators of performance marine. The allisons are major contributor to what we see today. Reggie Fountain also admits that his first 10 meter executioner was an oversized Allison based bottom. I will be picking up my first Allison soon.

Great story.
Thx for posting.

Most amazing part to me is speeds he's getting w/small motors.

Also, interesting comments on the new motors 😉

You’re not a boater unless you can say you have or had an Allison in your stable ;). Bonus points if one was the XR2002 !!

They should've asked them why they can't put a ladder on them!

I collect mid-year corvettes and have owed quite a few older small Allisons over the years, many times I looked at the rear deck area of the boats and thought they looked a lot like the front fenders of my corvettes!
