Just purchased my first Mirage Jaguar. 98 what would be the recommended prop for this boat it's got a 260 on it the prop I currently have on a now is a three-blade and I'm seeing the Numbers 22 I think on it this boat will do a hundred plus I don't need to go faster than 95 worried about the blow over situation thinking about putting a 4 blade on any recommendations as long as I keep my nose down I shouldn't really have to worry about blow over:

Thank you for the advice I'll look into that the 22. 3 blade that I have on there now is that for picking up speed quick torque kind of a prop I should say and not so much a top-end I don't know I've only had the boat up to 65 but it got there damn quick I really appreciate your info I'm all new to this

Ski Racer or River Racer ? Both will run faster flatter. I liked a 30 et on the SR to carry weight , it has too much bow lift for a RR. I can run 70 At 5000 rpm.
If it is a 22 it will be fun for accelerating but horrible on gas when cruising. Mike

Bigger the prop lower the cruise rpm save the motor

It is a river racer currently I got the 22 pitch 3 blade on there I also bought a spare prop which is a 4 blade signature 28 what the other guy recommend I run whatever prop you guys think I would like better like I said I don't need to go over a hundred due to the blow over Factor I like the fact of fast acceleration and low RPMs to save the motor and better gas mileage at all sounds good to me which prop you think I should run out of the two

For cruising definitely the 28. When you get a handle on driving it your wot rpm will tell you if you need to move up. I could turn a 26 Yamaha 9600 pretty easy with 2 people and gear. On a long mileage run I wouldn't want to run that rpm for extended periods of time. My 15x32 cleaver will run 76 + at 5000 rpm. Easy on the motor and great mileage.

To beat up on the locals that think they are fast the 22 will do it. If it's as light as mine not many will leave any quicker with a stock 260 or 280. Fun boats. Mike

I appreciate your advice I'm going to try and both out and see where they run good advice some days I just hang out and race jet boats at The Sandbar and some days I go for a long run so I'll switch the props depending on what I'm doing that day I like the fact of the lower RPMs and better gas mileage to save my motor I appreciate the great advice thank you

Wow hey Rick how are we doing you're one of the reasons why I became an outboard guy got into the speed boats as a kid I always admired your outboard and speed boats and thought when I get older I'm going to buy one I quit going to Havasu and started going to the Lower River between Parker and Blythe aha Quin area if you know where that's at Twin Palms a lot of Jet Boats cuz the water shallow I've had a few outboard speed boats in the meantime last one I just got rid of was a warlock that did a hundred plus which was a weird score of the boat the one before that was a 19 Daytona Eliminator which was a smooth solid ride and now I just got the Mirage trying to post some pictures but I'm new to this computer phone stuff almost served around a hundred miles an hour plus thought about getting one of those stickers on my outboard it says hundred-mile-an-hour plus Club if I remember clearly I think you had a 20 foot Stoker I think it was pink my brother goes with me as well he drives a 19 or 18 foot Nordic pickle fork with 950 horsepower his motor alone cost twice as much as my whole entire boat and I can't wait to blow the doors off he's going to be pissed are you still in Havasu

Wes, I had a 21 Daytona with a V8 Johnson. I sold my old house and built a new one next door. I still have a couple of prime props if you are in need. Hope your Mom is well, please tell her I said hello.

Wes,
we have a place at Park Moabi next to Pirates Cove below Needles. We wakeboard behind the Moomba in the morning and take the Mirage out in the afternoon. You will have to bring the Mirage up some time, you'll love the water and the views.

Has anybody tried to put a hydrofoil on their outboard on a mirage thinking it might make it ride a little safer and maybe help with the blow over Factor I put one on my last 19 foot Daytona and it made it ride a lot nicer not that I rode bad before

I tried a bunch of different props this weekend 4 blade is much better than the 3 blade I want to buy 28 4 blade if anybody's got one out there Right turn. Small shaft 14 I'm looking to buy a brand new and if I can't find a used one do I buy a mazco or a signature the mazco little bit more expensive. ????

Wes, I have a Mazco 28 4 blade that was cut into a sort of ET style blade by Ron Hill. It's basically new because I always ran smaller props on my Daytona. I probably have well over $1k in the prop but you can have it for $500 IF it works for you. If I remember right it had more stern lift after the blades were cut. It's in Havasu.

I ordered the 28 blade Eagle signature on its way can't wait to try it I tried a few four blades and tried a few 3 blades the four blades I love a lot more it has way more control the 3 blade made the boat do wheelies lots of Bow lift uncomfortable is that normal. My motor is writing about an inch to an inch and a half above Center I have an 8 in setback another guy on the internet would recommend me running a 10 to a 12 and setback any thoughts are recommendation I typically ride with two or three people in my boat if I buy 3 blade prop size and kind would you guys recommend thank you

4 blade 28 signature I hit 95 miles an hour with two people in the boat did not try it by myself. The prop is blowing out on take off have to ease into it thinking about buying a 3 blade to see what that does oh I want my bout to stay down if I buy a 3 blade what would you recommend probably a 30 something but a prop that I keep the bow down what do you think

That 22 " Pitch isn't nearly enough . All your doing with it is putting undo wear on your motor . With the Mirage RR A couple of good choses would be a 14.5 x 28 Yamaha Drag or a 14.5 x 30 or 32 Cleaver . Both are stern lift props and will run very good on that boat . Please Keep In Mind ....Up Is Not Fast ! the flatter you can get the boat to run after 70 mph , the safer and faster it will be . And get you a good vest ( Life Line ) and use it !
