Guess he should have left the traction control enabled.
I'd love to see what was waiting for him at work this morning. Skip Barber driving school brochure, Vette owners manual with highlighted page on how to turn on Traction Control, A gallon bottle of Formula V tire traction treatment...

I was watching the race and couldn't believe how ruff the course was. Like hitting rollers in a boat! As tight as a hi po vette's suspension it is not surprising that it got away from him under boost or braking.....I bet he has a lot of seat time in a vette too. Not a newb. it hurt to see that beautiful car smack the wall...

GM has a very stringent set of trainings and certifications for its test driver certification which is actually vehicle specific. Mark Reuss is a certified test driver for all Corvette variants including the new ZR1 and has done many hot laps on their Milford proving grounds. More than likely the car was in track mode which doesn't completely disable traction control.

There have been a number of things like this happen with "professional race drivers" on warm up laps in both pace cars and their actual race cars over the years. But you can bet that his co workers are having a lot of fun with this today....... ;)

4 wheel drive , with 2 wheel too easy to break tires loose. Tesla should race the new Roadster 0 to 60 1.9 sec;)

Totally unproven, the entire vehicle is a dream at this point.

It far more likely the Porsche Mission E will actually become a car you can buy and have actual real world performance in the sub 2.5 sec 0-60 range and be able to complete a full lap of the Nordschleife without overheating the battery 3 minutes in.

Don’t get me wrong, the Tesla is a really good car but it’s got a long way to go to have the driving dynamics of a true sports car.

The press in a tesla lined up with a aussie v8 touring car ( 640hp) standing start on a race track, the pro in the touring car couldnt catch the novice in the tesla.
The 4WD got him at the start and that was it.

Lots of drag race fodder on the Internet. They fail to mention all the stuff that goes on as the battery is working though it’s cooling cycles and making sure the foolishness doesn’t kill it. If all you want is to win stoplight Grand Prix’s then drop 150 large and buy the Tesla.

it was a lap of a race track not a drag strip
