I bought the boat 1 year ago as a project, but I really know nothing about the hull other than its a double tunnel wood hull.the title says it's an 01 18'3".
I'm getting ready to tear it down and rebuild it from the hull up as it has a lot of rot. So I have a couple of questions. What is this thing truly capable of in great shape. And most of all is this hull worth dumping 6 grand into.
Any I'm formation would be appreciated

Might be ok as a fish boat if top end is not important. Gonna be a hard rebuild (if it needs it)though as it has a liner it appears....

This boat will mainly be used for running the flats and I would hopefully like to see it hit 60 mile an hour and that's plenty fast enough for me. I just really don't know if this Hall is capable of sustaining 60 mile an hour easily

And my plan was to build a cradle for the hull take the cap off and junk it entirely and start from scratch

Build it light and it should only draft 12'' or so....

That hull will run 60 mph all day long with no issues . I drove that hull with a sport deck in the low 90's with no issues other then I felt kitey . $6000.oo to repair is Way Out Of Line for the value of this hull . John is still in buisness building boats and If I'm not mistaken just built one of these for himself or a family member . John Christainsen , Custom Cattermarans . See if you can locate him and if he will work with you on what you need . Otherwise get with Jack Barsh Full Throttle Power Boats in Jacksonville , Fl.

depending on power it will run 70 to 90 I owned 1 and used one while the other was getting built its a very fun boat to drive really needs a 15 inch mid though I agree 6000 is a lot to rehab this boat

I have a 175 2.5 L carbed Merc on it currently. It's a 20 inch motor and I can't seem to get this motor high enough even with the Jack Plate. I can't really get it to get up on its pad and I can only get about 50 miles an hour out of it how it sits. But a lot of that have could have a lot to do with all the saturated wood in it, I mean it's pretty well rotten. I was more so just trying to make sure this was a good running motor before I tore this thing down with plans of putting this motor back on it.

I have a 10" bobs jack plate on it and it has about 3" of freeboard at the transom
