I have a Merc 150 black max on a jack plate hanging off a 79 Hydrostream V-king. I will need to raise this motor some as its sitting too low today.
Question is how do I know if I need a low water pickup or not?
Sounds like most people with a V-king end up needing one. So if I do where can I just buy a new lower unit with a low water pickup for my motor?
My skeg is wore pretty bad so figured I would just replace and possibly modify the gearing if needed at that time on in one shot. Guessing it will be a few bucks but if its
better I don't mind spending the money.
I don't really want to do the Bobs nose cone myself in the garage. Would rather just bolt up a new lower.
Also, building for top speed.
Thanks,
