Switched cranks in my 2.4. I was running a 2.0 crank and switched to 2.4 crank. I only have on 2.4 center main. The 2.0 mains are like new can I run them on my 2.4 crank? THanks

They are both small bearings...if it's a new 2.0 crank, they won't fit, because they are the same az 2.5's...earlu 2.0's and 2.4's are the same!!..REX:cool:

All center mains have the same journal diameter
however the earlier 2.0 and the 2.5s have the plastic cages that are centered by larger shoulders on the crank.

Theise shoulders also will weld themselvs to the wider 2.4 bearings should they be used by mistake!!!

2.0 crank is out of late 70s 1750. 2.4 is oiler crank out of 84 200. The 2.0 crank had plastic cages on it. Rex are you saying I can use the bearings on my 2.4?

Just keep the mains with watever crank they came on.If you want to put a big top 2.0 in a 2.5 block you can the center mains are the same, just use the 2.5 rollers and the old style 175 hp 2.0 top roller

The crank and the bearings U have are the same...they top bearing may be diffrent, but the mains ARE THE SAME!!!...U kan use a 2.4, 2.0 crank in a 2.5 without problem, but takes special bearings to use a 2.5 in a 2.0 or 2.4!!!...REX

Hi REX. I did not want to get any one conffused. So I tried to be short. You can pull a motor apart and get a crank ,but what crank is it ? It may have been switched. To make it easy as I can as a southern yankeee, here is my best. 175 and 150 2.0 had big top and plastic center rollers. 2.4 had steel cage on top and steel cage center rollers. The steel cage type rollers are located by the outter race. The plastic type are located by the crank cheek. I am sure lots of you all know all this, just trying to help.:D
